Protecting the public and ensuring that clients are informed of their rights is an important part of my job as a Registered Massage Therapist. With this in mind I have included policies and procedures which can have an impact on you.
What to Expect at Your First Treatment
During your first treatment I ask you to arrive 5-10 min prior to your scheduled appointment to fill a health history and consent forms. This way you are given your full allotted time for treatment. Filling the health history forms correctly is very important as some conditions and medications need modification to the treatment. Next I will go through your health history and concerns. We may do special orthopedic tests depending on concerns. Some tests may re-produce the pain you are feeling.
What to Expect After Your First Treatment
When getting off the table it’s always recommended to rise slowly sitting on table first before getting off to allow the blood flow to adjust. You may feel dizzy or light headed. Depending on the type of massage, deeper work may cause some muscle soreness 24-48 hours after a massage.
**24 hours Cancellation Policy
We require at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment. If less than 24 hours notice is given, you will be charged 50% of your appointment time. If you don’t show and don’t give us a call, you will be charged 100% of your missed appointment. Payment is expected in full at the time of treatment.
Why do we have this policy?
Keep in mind that this is how each therapists make their living, if you don’t come to your appointment or don’t give us enough time to fill your spot when you cancel your appointment, we/your therapist do not get paid. Keep in mind that we cannot charge your insurance for your missed appointment either.
